I take a lot of pictures of the tiniest people (because they're cute and all) but sometimes these bigger ones do more exciting things.

22: by the book
Frosting by the book. . .
Azia joining into the "frosting" craze that has overtaken Montana in this last week as we got buried under more than a foot of snow. People began to amuse themselves by pretending the weather was nice, even though it wasn't, and taking photos.

IHF: Furry Faces
We thought we lost our crazy cat.
So, I told my sister we'd take one of her other ones since they were all outside cats who never came inside and I didn't want another cat living in my house anyway. I'm not a big pet person.
Then after a week or so, we found the cat living at a neighbor's and the boys went to bring it home, because Lex really missed his Yettie cat.
Meanwhile, Tiger forgot she was an outside cat so now I have two cats constantly fighting and playing in circles around me and running up curtains (or lately the Christmas tree) or just trying to sleep for large chunks of the day on my computer or in middle of papers I'm trying to grade or just anywhere on me they think they can balance.
One step closer to my crazy cat lady nightmare.

IHF: favorite 2011 face
I don't know if this is my favorite face of 2011, but I love photos where you can see how blue Azia's eyes are. And although she doesn't usually wear feathered eyelashes, the big of exaggerated fanciness is really sort of her style--especially with sequins to match!

Day 293: this superhero business is exhausting
Lex's best friend lately has been an old beat up superman toy that was his older brother's about a decade ago. And then Superman "flew" out the window as we were driving and didn't ever make it back home.
We didn't ever find the missing superman, but apparently you can almost replace a ten-year-old, 25-cent-garage-sale toy on amazon for about $14. This new one is actually about twice as big as the old one so maybe it's even cooler. Lex had been carrying around the other superman everywhere for about two weeks, so he was pretty devastated when he lost him. He could hardly contain his excitement when the package arrived with this new version.
Since Lex was responsible for the departing flight of Superman the First (I'd already rescued him once earlier in the day after a previous flight out the window) I made him "earn" the money to buy this one. He only did about fifteen minutes of work, but it took about five hours. I figure if you factor in his three-year-old age the math works out in the end.
He's been pretty fond of Superman the Second, too. Today was filled with all sorts of flying and chasing and escaping (mainly from me). I stripped off my sheets and went to throw them in the wash. By the time I was back in the room to put the new ones on, this was what I found.

Day 278: Party Day!
All sorts of busy today. . . lots of red & zebra stripes and giggly girls. Many more pictures to come. A few might even have Azia in them even though she won't ever cooperate with being photographed.
