230: School Shopping: Phase One
I took the boys school shopping today–which mainly meant getting some shoes. (We also made one more stop for a couple pairs of pants and t-shirts since neither of the boys has been school shopping for a couple years, but that wasn't nearly as interesting as shoes and it was torture trying to get them to try anything on.) So mostly the first part of the afternoon was like this picture: Lex a bit crazy and completely indecisive about the 15 pairs of red shoes he was trying on while Zoran was exasperated by Lex's slow pace and lack of civility. (Lex is the most particular person I know when it come to clothes.) Then we took a break and went to a movie. Afterwards, Zoran had a breakdown because I wouldn't buy him basketball cards and he'd forgotten his money and couldn't buy them himself. So he made us miserable the last hour or so since his life was clearly awful. But, they're both ready to go and school doesn't even start for a few more weeks!

220: post party
Walking back to the car after Monte's birthday party... I can't believe all these babies from last year are turning one! We're almost through all the first birthdays. Kind of sad how fast the time goes.

218: Zoran's good mail day
Both his Sports Illustrated and ESPN magazines plus the information for this year's Michael Cooper basketball camp! (And the signup sheet even included his name for being one of the MVPs of last year's camp.)

214: Second place at the 3 on 3!
Zoran, Bryce, their friend Carmine (and Lex as their sub!) were the runners up at the Ronan basketball tournament this weekend. Their other friends were out of town, so second place was not too shabby for having a 6-year-old fill in!

190: Splash!
I take a lot of pictures of the tiniest people (because they're cute and all) but sometimes these bigger ones do more exciting things.

184: Summer Basketball!
Zoran played in his first 3 on 3 tournament today with Bryce, Kellen, and Robbie. They had to play in the bracket with the 5th & 6th grade since there wasn't one for their age, but they did pretty well against the older kids. Hopefully they'll get to do one this summer with kids their own age–I think they could do really well.

121: First Night on the Mound
Zoran's pitching debut!
He was a little nervous but did great--struck out the first two batters up and pitched three scoreless innings.

114: taking flight
Zoran's project did make it to school, but for future reference, a sand hill crane will not fit in my car if it insists on riding with its wings extended. . .

113: bird building
We don't always wait till the night before projects are due to finish them.
(But this might be an observable pattern 90% of the time.)

105: Show & Tell!
Zoran has been wanting to bring his sister in for "official" show and tell since the beginning of the year. (She's actually been to his classroom a few times, but not as the center of attention.) He was pretty excited to show her off, and his class is such a great group of kids, they were just as excited to meet her. After he told them about her he walked around from desk to desk letting everyone say hello.

103: Bird watching
Zoran has been studying native Montana birds in school recently. It's turning him into quite a knowledgeable and enthusiastic bird watcher.

94: Mission Powwow
I really have to make Zoran a new outfit. He's always been the one most interested in dancing and was excited for the powwow today. It took me a bit to convince him to wear Lex's outfit today since it's the wrong colors and all, but the one Zoran has I made when he was four. He's nine. It's on the small side, but he can still wear it. Poor kid is miniature-sized. (I also made Lex's for him when he was four, but he was a much larger 4-year-old.)
