Day 52: Ready to start the Christmas season (almost)

The kids and I had this plan to make this variation of an advent calendar, which is actually more like a fancy version of a countdown Christmas chain. We got out all the supplies to put it together a couple days ago and as they started to paint all the boxes we discovered two were missing. Where do things disappear to in this house? Anyway, we've had it sitting on the counter partly assembled for three days waiting for the other two boxes to show up. No such luck yet. Maybe we'll have to start our count down on the 3rd of December. Or celebrate Christmas on the 23rd.

  2. I don't know about your house, but mine has this vortex that seems to suck things in just as I need them most only to spit them back out weeks later when I no longer need it or as soon as I buy a replacement! : ) Lovely picture -- love the darker, less saturated colors. Glad I found you on the 365 project -- your blog looks very interesting!!

And I agree with Jessica, our house has a vortex as well.

  4. Yes, a vortex...that seems a perfect explanation for my house as well!

  5. How do things disappear? I think you should start on the 3rd....otherwise it will be nuts on the other end. Sounds like a sweet tradition for kiddos.
    Love this image. Great POV....

  6. I think the boxes ended up at my house. I've got things I'm not sure where they came from this season....I do love this. It has a bit of a vintage feel to it. Very cozy. Thank you for sharing.
